MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641060881 A) filed by Saran Narayanan; Dr. E. Maheswari; G Gokul; and P Suresh Krishna on May 13, 2026, for Solar Energy Based Water Purifier Using High Gain Boost Converter With Super Capacitor.
Inventors include Saran Narayanan; Dr. E. Maheswari; G Gokul; and P Suresh Krishna.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention presents a solar energy–based water purification system that uses a high-gain boost converter, supercapacitor energy storage, and a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to provide clean and safe drinking water. The system is mainly designed for rural, remote, and off-grid areas where access to electricity and conventional water purification methods is limited. The MPPT algorithm helps in extracting maximum power from the solar panel, while the high-gain boost converter increases the low solar voltage to the required level for operating the purification unit. The supercapacitor stores excess energy and supplies power during low sunlight conditions, ensuring continuous operation of the system. The proposed method offers an efficient, reliable, eco-friendly, and cost-effective solution for water purification with reduced dependence on traditional power sources. This invention can be effectively used in rural development, disaster relief operations, and humanitarian applications to improve access to clean drinking water and support sustainable living.
