Abstract: A solar-based smart battery management architecture for electric vehicles is disclosed. The system integrates a photovoltaic energy source with a battery management unit to provide auxiliary charging and power support for battery operation and control electronics. The architecture continuously monitors individual battery cell parameters including voltage, current, state of charge, and temperature to ensure safe and efficient operation of the battery pack. The disclosed system implements a dynamic cell balancing mechanism that actively redistributes energy among battery cells in real time to maintain uniform charge levels, reduce cell imbalance, and minimize capacity degradation. The dynamic balancing operation improves energy utilization and extends overall battery life when compared to conventional passive balancing approaches.1
