MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611067436 A) filed by Dr. Neha Gupta; Priyank Yadav; Mayank Pandey; Ashish Singh; Ahtesham Rja; and Kaustubh Nath Tripathi on May 29, 2026, for Solar-Assisted Personal Mobility Electric Vehicle With Idle-State Energy Harvesting And Mode-Based Energy Management.

Abstract: Abstract A solar-assisted personal mobility electric vehicle includes a tubular chassis supporting an elevated photovoltaic solar panel, an MPPT charge controller, a lithium-ion battery pack, a motor controller and a rear-wheel BLDC hub motor. Solar-generated electrical power is conditioned by the MPPT charge controller and stored in the battery pack for supply to the hub motor in response to a throttle input. The direct-drive hub motor provides rear-wheel propulsion without an intervening chain, belt or gearbox transmission. A rack-and-pinion steering assembly controls front-wheel direction, and a mechanical braking assembly provides stopping independently of the electrical traction path. During a stationary or non-propulsion condition, the photovoltaic panel and MPPT charge controller charge the battery pack through an idle solar charging path. The low-power vehicle architecture thereby uses parked solar exposure to replenish stored propulsion energy for short-distance personal mobility applications.
