MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073438 A) filed by Lakshmi Narain College Of Technology & Science on June 12, 2026, for Solar-Adaptive Food Drying System.

Abstract: A solar adaptive food drying system, comprising a housing 101, a sun tracking unit to detect incident solar radiation intensity and transmit corresponding electrical signals to an inbuilt microcontroller for further processing, a solar energy collection unit provided for directing and concentrating incident solar radiation over a V shaped absorber plate 112, the absorber plate 112 convert the concentrated radiation into heat, such that air entering through an inlet 113 carved on the plate 112 is heated and rises upward by buoyancy driven flow to dry food items placed over a plurality of vertically stacked panels 114, the moist air being discharged through an outlet cavity 115 carved on the housing 101, thereby establishing a continuous airflow cycle for effective dehydration, a camera 116 to monitor visual changes in food items including color variation and shrinkage during the drying process.
