MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641093030 A) filed by Ifet College Of Engineering on July 31, 2026, for Soil-Based Underground Emergency Communication And Physiological Monitoring System.

Inventors include Mr. A. Jayakumar; and Mr. S. Naveen Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an underground emergency communication and physiological monitoring system (100)comprising an underground personnel unit (102), a physiological sensing assembly (104) configured to acquire one or more physiological parameters of an underground individual, an emergency input assembly (106) configured to generate a predefined distress indication, an underground signal transmission assembly (108) configured to combine the physiological parameters and the predefined distress indication into a transmission signal adapted for propagation through soil, a surface receiving unit (110) configured to receive the transmission signal, a rescue-status indication assembly (112)configured to indicate the received physiological parameters and the predefined distress indication, an embedded control unit (114) configured to coordinate system operation, and a power supply unit (116) configured to energize the system. The system enables simultaneous transmission of physiological information and emergency distress indications from underground personnel to surface rescue personnel without dependence on wired communication infrastructure.
