Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a soft tissue isolation retractor for controlled dental field exposure and moisture absorption. The retractor comprises a retractor body adapted for placement within an oral cavity, a handle portion connected to the retractor body for operator manipulation, and a working end formed on the retractor body for displacing oral soft tissue away from an operative dental region. A cotton roll receiving slot is integrated with the working end and is adapted to receive a dental cotton roll. A retention surface is defined within the cotton roll receiving slot and is configured to frictionally engage the dental cotton roll. The working end and the cotton roll receiving slot cooperate through the retractor body to provide soft tissue retraction and cotton roll stabilization, thereby supporting dental field isolation and moisture absorption through a single dental instrument.
