Abstract: TITLE: SNAP LOCK WELL-OF-WELL (WOW) RETROFIT INSERT FOR STANDARD PETRI DISHES APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a snap-lock Well-of-Well retrofit insert for standard Petri dishes, comprising a disc body configured to fit within a 30 mm or 60 mm polystyrene Petri dish and formed from an optically transparent biocompatible polymer for inverted microscopic observation. A snap ring is integrally formed along the periphery of the disc body and comprises radial protrusions configured to engage complementary grooves of the Petri dish for tool-free snap-fit attachment. A microwell array zone comprises 10 to 100 microwells having pyramid, hemispherical, or V-groove profiles for individually positioning embryos for morphokinetic monitoring. A centrally located macrowell provides group embryo culture while preserving paracrine signaling and preventing embryo mixing. An annular oil-retention rim surrounds the microwell array zone for retaining overlay oil and reducing leakage. The retrofit insert is removable and reusable, supports simultaneous individual and group embryo culture, and enables embryo culture in conventional incubators without droplet systems.
