Abstract: Concrete infrastructure is vulnerable to progressive crack formation that compromises structural safety when left undetected and unrepaired. The SmartCrete Guardian presents an IoT-Based Structural Crack Healing Architecture embedding piezoelectric acoustic emission sensors, strain gauges, and humidity sensors within concrete structures for continuous crack monitoring. Acoustic emission signals are processed using continuous wavelet transform and CNN-based classification to detect and categorize crack severity. Upon detection, electronically controlled micro-valve or induction-triggered systems activate encapsulated healing agents or bacterial spore colonies to autonomously repair cracks. An IoT gateway transmits structural health data to a cloud platform providing real-time crack maps, healing progress monitoring, and structural safety indices through an engineer-facing web dashboard. The system enables proactive structural maintenance, extends infrastructure lifespan, and reduces inspection costs for bridges, buildings, dams, and tunnels.
