MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101038 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on August 20, 2026, for Smartcratex - A Real-Time Iot Based Seafood Transport Ecosystem With Adaptive Cooling And Intelligent Monitoring.

Inventors include M Vivek Kumar; Vipin Karthik M B; and Pooja M.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A smart seafood transportation technology called SmartCrateX was created to preserve freshness, increase transparency, and lower post-harvest losses in the fisheries supply chain. With automated misting and ongoing environmental monitoring, it transforms conventional fish crates into intelligent cooling systems. During transportation, the system continuously monitors the internal temperature and humidity levels. If the temperature exceeds a safe threshold, a fine mist spray is immediately activated. This contributes to the creation of a cool, moisture-balanced environment that preserves fish quality and slows down spoiling. Even in remote locations with spotty internet access, all condition data is captured and transmitted to a linked mobile platform or gateway, enabling both offline and real-time tracking. By serving as evidence of freshness, this digital record helps avoid disagreements between purchasers and fishermen. The technology reduces waste and increases overall transport efficiency by lowering reliance on ice and avoiding manual handling. The crate is reusable, portable, and appropriate for last-mile delivery scenarios because it is powered by a rechargeable energy source. By preserving product value, boosting consumer confidence, and bolstering supply chain accountability, SmartCrateX helps MSMEs and small-scale fishermen. All things considered, it creates a clever, transparent, and freshness-preserving ecosystem for the transit of seafood from the place of capture to the market.
