Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART WATER-JET CLEANING SYSTEM FOR SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS WITH VISION-BASED SOILING DETECTION The present disclosure relates to a smart water-jet cleaning system (100) for solar photovoltaic panels. The system comprises a camera module (110) capturing images of a panel (150) surface, a host computing device (120) executing an image processing pipeline (130) that converts images to HSV colour space, applies dual-range red hue and brown soil colour segmentation, refines masks by morphological operations, and computes a soil coverage percentage. When the percentage exceeds a threshold, a control payload is transmitted over a wireless network (160) to a microcontroller unit (142) that activates a relay module (144) energising a high-pressure water pump (146). A flat-fan jet nozzle (148) delivers targeted pressurised cleaning. A non-blocking communication module (140) simultaneously logs data to a cloud dashboard (170). The system conserves water, uses commodity hardware, and achieves detection-to-actuation latency within two seconds. [
