MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111003 A) filed by Pragati Engineering College on September 16, 2026, for Smart Vehicle Accident Detection And Automatic Severity Estimation System Using Multi-Sensor Fusion.
Inventors include Dr. Prasanth Varasala; Mr. M Sunil Raj; Mrs. Kada Tulasi; and Ms. Harini Allampalli.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The promised invention is about an IoT-Enabled AI Based Smart Crop Recommendation System Using Real-time Soil and Weather Monitoring which assists the farmer to make better crop choice based on the real scenario of their farmland. The system collects real-time environmental data automatically from the Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, rather than relying on traditional farming methods or on-going data collection. An ESP32 microcontroller continuously monitors and captures a variety of parameters, including soil moisture, temperature, and humidity. The data is then wirelessly sent to a cloud platform for more processing and analysis. After transferring the data to the cloud it is stored and analyzed by an Artificial Intelligence model designed around the Random Forest machine learning algorithm. The AI will be trained with previous experimental data from agriculture and analyze real-time scenarios happening in the field to give the farmer a prediction of which crop is likely to be best suited for the existing environment. The system includes a recommendation along with a confidence score, to give farmers a better idea of how reliable this recommendation is. The results are presented in a straightforward web-based or mobile application which enables farmers to check on their fields and have access to crop recommendations from anywhere and anytime. The proposed architecture is envisioned to be both scalable and cost-effective, catering to both small and large farms. It also allows for secure storage of historical data in the cloud and can be expanded upon in the future as additional features like nutrient analysis of soil, weather prediction, fertilizer recommendations, irrigation management, and crop disease detection are added. The invention combines IoT, Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing and wireless communication in a single intelligent platform and reduces the manual work, contributes to precise crop recommendations, efficient use of agricultural resources, and reduction of the risk of farming, and supports sustainable and precision farming. The system appears to offer a sound and useful decision support system for supporting farmers in improving their productivity while enabling them to follow modern and data-driven farming practices.
