Abstract: The present invention relates to an ultrasound-guided sensor-integrated biopsy needle system for assisting in accurate and controlled tissue sampling from a predetermined anatom_ ical target. The_ system _com bines u_ltr a_sou nd-based ta_ rget identification with real-time sensing of biopsy needle orientation and insertion depth. An ultrasound image of the region of interest is obtained, from which an intended entry point and target point are identified. Based on the spatial relationship between the entry point and target point, a recommended needle trajectory, insertion angle, and insertion depth are determined. The biopsy needle is provided with an integrated sensing arrangement comprising an angle measurement sensor and a depth measurement mechanism. The sensor outputs are processed by a processing unit to determine the actual needle angle and insertion depth during the biopsy procedure. The actual values are continuously or periodically compared with the recommended values obtained from the ultrasound image. When the measured needle position remains within a predetermined tolerance range, the system provides an indication that the needle is following the planned trajectory. If the deviation exceeds the permissible range, the system provides an alert or deviation indication through a display, LED indicator, buzzer, or other suitable feedback mechanism. The proposed invention assists the healthcare professional in maintaining the desired needle trajectory and depth during tissue sampling. The system may further include a needle holder, mechanical support, control unit, display unit, safety mechanism, and specimen-retention arrangement. The invention provides a compact and practical approach for improving biopsy accuracy, consistency, monitoring, and procedural control.
