Abstract: The present invention relates to a Smart Transmission Grid using Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time monitoring, intelligent control, and efficient management of electrical power transmission networks. The system comprises distributed IoT-enabled sensing units, data acquisition modules, communication modules, a central processing unit, an intelligent monitoring and control module, and a user interface. The sensing units continuously monitor transmission-grid parameters including voltage, current, power, frequency, temperature, transformer condition, and transmission-line status. The acquired data are transmitted through wired or wireless communication networks to a centralized or cloud-based processing platform for analysis. The processing unit identifies abnormal operating conditions, equipment faults, overload conditions, power-quality variations, and other potential disturbances. An intelligent decision-making module generates alerts and control commands based on the analyzed grid conditions. The system enables remote monitoring, fault detection, predictive maintenance, load management, and real-time visualization of transmission-network conditions. The proposed IoT-based smart transmission grid improves the visibility, responsiveness, reliability, and operational efficiency of the power transmission system while supporting timely preventive and corrective actions.
