Abstract: The design and development of fully fashioned knitted head coverings for protective wear represent an innovative approach to enhancing personal safety, comfort and functionality. Fully fashioned knitting techniques allow precise shaping of the fabric directly during the knitting process, eliminating the need for cutting and sewing while ensuring a fashionable knitted structure. These results in improved fit, reduced material waste and enhanced durability. Such head coverings are particularly relevant in sectors requiring protective gear, including healthcare, industrial environments and extreme weather conditions, where both protection and wearer comfort are critical. This study focuses on the selection of appropriate yams, knitting structures and fabrication techniques to achieve desired protective ยท properties such as thermal insulation, breathability, moisture management and resistance to external hazards. Advanced fibers, including high-performance synthetic and blended yams, are explored to enhance features like flame resistance, antimicrobial properties and mechanical strength. The integration of ergonomic design principles ensures that the head coverings conform closely to the human head, providing maximum coverage without compromising mobility or comfort. Furthermore, the research emphasizes sustainability and efficiency in production by leveraging fully fashioned knitting technology to minimize waste and energy consumption. Prototyping and testing of the developed head coverings are conducted to evaluate performance under various environmental and usage conditions. The findings highlight the potential of fully fashioned knitted structures to meet modem protective wear requirements, offering a balance between safety, comfort and eco-friendly manufacturing practices. ~ ';
