MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083677 A) filed by Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University on July 08, 2026, for Smart Strengthening Handgrip Dynamometer.

Inventors include Dr. Hina Vaish; Mansi Mbmaurya; and Bhawana Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a smart strengthening handgrip dynamometer comprising a stationary handle, a movable handle connected through a pivot joint, a compression shaft coupled to the movable handle, a strain gauge load cell positioned in the compression shaft, a Wheatstone bridge circuit, a microcontroller coupled through an amplifier circuit and an analog-to-digital converter, a controllable resistance generation unit coupled through a driver circuit, and a display unit. During grip compression, the compression shaft loads the strain gauge load cell to generate force-time data. The microcontroller compares the force-time data with a stored rehabilitative target and controls the resistance generation unit to vary grip resistance during a strengthening exercise. The dynamometer thereby generates grip-strength data while applying controlled resistance through the same handgrip structure.
