Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a smart sign language to text and voice conversion system (100) comprising a wearable glove assembly (102) having finger sensing elements (104) and a motion sensing element (106) configured to detect finger bending and hand movement. Sensor information is acquired through a signal acquisition unit (108) and processed by a processing controller (114) executing a gesture recognition module (116). A gesture database (118) stores predefined gestures and corresponding textual expressions. Upon recognition of a gesture, a text generation unit (124) determines a corresponding textual expression and supplies the textual expression to a text-to-speech module (126). The text-to-speech module (126) generates an audio signal that is reproduced through an audio output unit (128). The system is configured for local operation without requiring continuous internet connectivity and provides a portable assistive communication solution. The wearable configuration enables conversion of predefined sign language gestures into audible speech, thereby facilitating communication between sign language users and persons unfamiliar with sign language.
