MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521086691 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University on September 12, 2025, for Smart Sensor-Controlled Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir System For Car.

Inventors include Dr. Samir B. Patel; Dr. Hiren Kumar Thakkar; and Ms. Shreya Shah.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: It is observed that many a times while we are driving our car, when we use water for cleaning our windshield, there is no water in the tank reservoir/container, and there is no option left with the driver but to park his vehicle and clean the front glass manually. This could be very risky while driving on a road having heavy traffic, and it becomes very risky particularly when there is rainy reason. During rainy season, our windshield glass is becoming dusty and we could not see transparently through the glass. There are very heavy chances that, it will lead to a catastrophe of accident. Also when during the rainy season, there is a heavy fog which gets accumulated on the glass in the form of moisture, because of this also we need to clear the glass frequently. When there is no water in the container suddenly you realize that nothing could be done, but this is a very dangerous situation, which could lead to accident on road. We have developed a smart container which will not only show the water level but will also notify the car user to top-up with necessary water in the container, top-up could be done without opening bonnet but by sitting on the driver seat itself, necessary funnel to top-up water in the container is attached to the container. This will help the car driver to keep a track of water level at any point of time. This product can also be helpful in situations where car driver is going for long drive during any season, such a product, could be useful for emergency situations. The car water container is modified to have a sensor which detects the level of water and based on the level of water, the status is updated in the database, which is stored in the cloud. Interface is designed to notify through SMS about the low level, high level and actual intermediate level. There is a user interface which could be monitored by administrator and decision making could be done. Figure -1
