MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621075922 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on June 18, 2026, for Smart Security Foot Mat With Microcontroller-Based Time-Controlled Pressure-Sensitive Intrusion Alert System.

Inventors include Dr. Parul Dubey; and Dr Priya Dasarwar.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART SECURITY FOOT MAT WITH MICROCONTROLLER-BASED TIME-CONTROLLED PRESSURE-SENSITIVE INTRUSION ALERT SYSTEM The present invention provides a Smart Security Foot Mat system (100) for time-controlled intrusion detection comprising a mat body (110) with an embedded pressure sensor (120), a microcontroller unit (130), a real-time clock module (140), an alarm unit (150), a power supply unit (160), and an optional wireless communication module (170). The real-time clock module (140) enables the system (100) to operate selectively during user-defined security-sensitive hours. When a person steps on the mat body (110) during the active time window and the detected pressure exceeds a predefined threshold, the microcontroller unit (130) activates the alarm unit (150) to generate an immediate audible alert. The system optionally transmits remote notifications via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or GSM. The invention is portable, battery-operable, low-cost, and customizable, suitable for home security, elderly monitoring, office access control, and warehouse surveillance. [
