Abstract: The present invention provides a smart school/college bag system (100) for timeta-ble-based verification of educational materials. The system includes a bag body and storage-compartment arrangement (102), one or more item-detection modules (104), identification elements (106), a processing and control unit (108), a timetable stor- age arrangement (110), an item comparison module (112) and an alert arrangement (114). A current day, date, time or user-selected academic schedule is used to obtain a corresponding required-item list. Educational items present in the bag are detected using RFID-based identification or other sensing arrangements and are compared with the required-item list. When a required item is missing, the alert arrangement generates an audible, visual, vibration-based, display-based and/or mobile notifica- tion and may identify the specific missing item. When all required items are detect-ed, a confirmation indication may be provided. Basic verification may operate with- out continuous internet connectivity.
