Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart system for real-time monitoring of seat occupancy in train compartments, designed to assist passengers in identifying available seats quickly and efficiently. The system utilizes occupancy sensors installed on individual seats to detect the presence or absence of passengers, and the collected sensor data is continuously transmitted to a microcontroller for processing. The microcontroller analyses the data and determines the seat availability status, which is updated in real-time without delay. The system further includes a display unit that visually indicates seat availability using simple indicators such as color signals for easy understanding. In addition, the invention integrates a communication module that enables data transmission between on board hardware and external interfaces, including a mobile application. This allows passengers to remotely access real-time seat availability information through their mobile devices, thereby reducing unnecessary movement and congestion inside train compartments. The system enhances passenger comfort, ensures efficient utilization of seating resources, and supports data collection for analysis and operational planning.
