Abstract: With the increasing demand for sustainable water management and the growing concerns over water scarcity, the Smart Rainwater Roofing System is designed as an innovative solution to efficiently collect, filter, store, and reuse rainwater. Rainwater is a valuable natural resource, yet a significant portion is lost due to inadequate collection and management systems. This project aims to address this issue by developing an automated and intelligent rainwater harvesting system integrated with modern Electrical and Electronics Engineering components. The system operates by collecting rainwater from building rooftops through gutters and pipes, directing it into a filtration unit where impurities such as dust, leaves, and debris are removed. The filtered water is then stored in a storage tank for future use. A rain sensor detects rainfall and activates the system automatically, while a water level sensor monitors the storage tank to prevent overflow and ensure efficient utilization. A microcontroller or PLC-based control system manages the overall operation, including the activation of the water pump for distribution. Additionally, the system can be powered using solar energy and battery backup, making it energy-efficient and suitable for sustainable applications. By providing a smart, automated, and eco-friendly solution, the Smart Rainwater Roofing System helps conserve water, reduce dependency on conventional water sources, lower water bills, and promote environmental sustainability.
