Abstract: Ensuring safety in railway operations is a top priority in modern transportation systems, with collision prevention being one of the most critical challenges. Despite advancements in signaling and monitoring systems, accidents due to human error, communication failures, and system limitations still occur. To address this issue, our project presents an intelligent Collision Prevention System for Railways that combines Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven analytics. The system employs RFID tags installed on trains and RFID readers positioned along the railway track network to gather real-time location data. This setup creates a dynamic mapping of train movements across the network. The data collected is transmitted to a central processing unit, where AI algorithms analyze the movement patterns of trains, detect anomalies, and predict potential collision scenarios. Upon identifying a possible risk, the system initiates appropriate preventive actions, including reducing train speed, triggering emergency braking mechanisms, or suggesting route adjustments in real-time. This project not only demonstrates the technical feasibility of combining RFID and AI for safety applications but also highlights its potential to transform traditional railway infrastructure into a smart, automated, and highly reliable transportation system. Our vision is to contribute to the development of a future where railway networks operate with minimal risk, maximum efficiency, and advanced technological support for real-time decision-making and safety assurance.
