Abstract: ABSTRACT A smart protection system (100) for a three-phase agricultural induction motor (107) is disclosed. The system comprises a three-phase AC supply (101), a three-phase starter (102), ACS712 current sensors (103), a ZMPT101B voltage sensor (104), an Arduino Nano (105), and a 5V relay module (106). The ACS712 current sensors (103) monitor phase-wise currents, while the ZMPT101B voltage sensor (104) monitors supply voltage. The Arduino Nano (105) processes the current and voltage measurements to determine RMS current values, evaluate phase current asymmetry, and identify phase loss, over-voltage, under-voltage, overload, and dry- run conditions. A persistence-based trip-delay logic distinguishes sustained faults from transient conditions and motor startup inrush currents. Upon fault confirmation, the 5V relay module (106) disconnects the motor (107). The system further performs conditional automatic restart after fault clearance and voltage stabilization and records detected fault events for maintenance analysis. The figure associated with the abstract is Fig. 1.
