Abstract: The present invention relates to a Smart Plant Watering System with Soil Moisture-Based Automatic Control for automatically supplying water to plants according to the moisture condition of the soil. The system comprises a soil moisture sensing unit, a control and processing unit, a water delivery unit comprising a pump or electrically operated valve, a water reservoir, and a power supply unit. The soil moisture sensing unit continuously or periodically measures the moisture content of the soil and provides the detected information to the control unit. The control unit compares the measured moisture value with predetermined minimum and maximum thresholds. When the soil moisture falls below the minimum threshold, the control unit automatically activates the water delivery unit to supply water to the plant. When the soil moisture reaches the predetermined maximum threshold, the water delivery unit is automatically deactivated, thereby preventing excessive irrigation. The system may incorporate hysteresis-based control to reduce frequent switching and may further include abnormal-condition detection for identifying conditions such as pump failure, empty water reservoir, blocked irrigation lines, leakage, or sensor malfunction. An optional communication module enables transmission of soil moisture and irrigation information to a mobile application, web dashboard, or cloud-based monitoring platform. The proposed system reduces manual intervention and unnecessary water consumption while providing efficient, responsive, and soil-condition-based irrigation for individual plants or multiple plant zones.
