The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a Smart PCB Fault Detection System that utilizes Machine Vision, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Image Processing techniques for the automated inspection of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). The system comprises a high-resolution image acquisition module, controlled illumination unit, embedded processing unit, image preprocessing module, AI-based defect detection module, defect classification module, display interface, and data storage unit. During operation, high-resolution images of the PCB are captured and compared with a reference PCB image to identify manufacturing and assembly defects such as missing components, incorrect component placement, soldering defects, open circuits, short circuits, broken copper tracks, damaged pads, and surface defects. The detected faults are automatically classified, displayed in real time, and stored as digital inspection reports for quality monitoring and traceability. The proposed invention reduces dependence on manual inspection, minimizes inspection time, improves detection accuracy, and lowers operational costs while enhancing manufacturing efficiency. The system is suitable for integration into PCB manufacturing industries, electronics assembly lines, automotive electronics, medical devices, aerospace systems, consumer electronics, and Industry 4.0 environments, providing a cost-effective, intelligent, and reliable solution for real-time PCB quality inspection and defect analysis.
