Abstract: Smart Multicell Voltage Monitoring System for EV Lithium Battery Packs ABSTRACT Electric vehicle (EV) performance, safety, and battery lifespan strongly depend on accurate monitoring of individual lithium-ion cells within the battery pack. This project presents a Smart Multicell Voltage Monitoring System designed to continuously measure and supervise the voltage of multiple cells used in EV lithium battery packs. The system employs dedicated voltage sensing circuits integrated with a microcontroller to acquire real-time cell voltage data with high precision. By monitoring each cell independently, the system can detect abnormal conditions such as overvoltage, under-voltage, and cell imbalance at an early stage. The measured data is processed and displayed through a user interface, while threshold-based alerts are generated to warn users or control units of potential faults. The system supports scalability, allowing it to be adapted for battery packs with different numbers of cells. Communication capability enables data logging and integration with higher-level battery management systems (BMS) for advanced analysis and decision-making. Overall, the proposed monitoring system enhances battery safety, improves energy utilization, and contributes to reliable operation and extended service life of EV lithium battery packs. The monitored values are analyzed to identify unsafe conditions such as overcharging, deep discharging, and voltage imbalance between cells. When abnormal conditions occur, the system provides immediate alerts to prevent battery damage and potential hazards. The design is modular and scalable, making it suitable for different battery pack configurations. By enabling accurate cell-level supervision, the proposed system improves battery safety, enhances operational reliability, and supports longer battery fi in electric vehicle applications
