Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a smart solar-assisted battery storage system incorporating a Single-Ended Primary Inductance Converter (SEPIC) DC-DC converter and an intelligent control architecture for efficient solar energy harvesting and battery charging. The system comprises a photovoltaic power generation unit, voltage and current sensing modules, a control unit, a SEPIC converter, a battery storage unit, and a power management unit. The control unit continuously monitors photovoltaic and battery operating parameters and generates converter control signals to maintain operation of the photovoltaic source at or near its maximum available power condition while regulating battery charging voltage and current. The SEPIC converter provides both voltage step-up and voltage step-down capabilities through a single converter topology, enabling efficient operation under varying solar irradiation conditions. The system further incorporates battery protection, source selection between solar and auxiliary power, electric vehicle charging capability, and remote monitoring through a communication interface. The invention improves solar energy utilization, charging efficiency, voltage regulation, battery life, and overall system reliability.
