Abstract: Electric motors are widely used in industrial, agricultural, and domestic applications. However. motors are highly vulnerable to faults such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overheating, phase failure, and short circuits. These faults can reduce motor lifespan, cause equipment damage, and increase maintenance costs. This project presents a Smart Motor Protection System using a microcontroller to monitor and protect motors from abnormal operating conditions. The system continuously measures key parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature using appropriate sensors. A microcontroller (such as processes the sensor data and compares it with predefined safe limits. If any abnormal condition is detected, the system automatically disconnects the motor using a relay module and displays the fault condition on an LCD display. The system can also include features like buzzer alerts and real-time monitoring. The proposed Smart Motor Protection System utilizes a microcontroller-based architecture to provide continuous, real-time monitoring and automatic protection of electric motors. The system integrates voltage sensing, current sensing, and temperature monitoring modules to acquire critical motor operating parameters. These sensor signals are conditioned and fed into the microcontroller, which processes the data using an embedded decision-making algorithm, when the measured parameters exceed predefined safe limits, the microcontroller immediately triggers a relay or contactor to disconnect the motor from the power supply, thereby preventing potential damage. Simultaneously, the system provides clear fault indication through an LCD display and an audible buzzer alert to inform the operator of the specific fault condition. The design incorporates electrical isolation and protective components to ensure safe interaction between high-voltage motor circuit tow-voltage control electronics
