Abstract: The increasing integration of renewable energy sources into modern power systems has created a need for intelligent and reliable monitoring of microgrid operations. This work proposes a Smart Microgrid Monitoring System for real-time monitoring, analysis, and management of electrical energy generation, consumption, storage, and distribution. The proposed system integrates smart sensors, embedded controllers, wireless communication, IoT technologies, and intelligent data analytics to continuously monitor parameters such as voltage, current, power, frequency, power factor, energy consumption, and battery state of charge. The collected data is transmitted to a centralized monitoring platform, where it can be visualized and analyzed for identifying abnormal operating conditions and variations in energy demand. Machine Learning techniques can further be incorporated for load forecasting, renewable energy prediction, fault detection, and predictive maintenance. The system also supports intelligent coordination between renewable energy sources, battery storage, grid supply, and electrical loads to improve energy utilization. By providing real-time information and early detection of faults, the proposed system enhances the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of microgrid operation. The developed framework can be applied to smart homes, educational institutions, industries, healthcare facilities, and renewable-energy-based communities.
