MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611057963 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology Piet on May 07, 2026, for Smart Mattress With Localized Muscle Therapy And Adaptive Bio-Responsive Control System.

Inventors include Mr. Anurag Vashist; and Ms. Rashi Singh.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention a smart mattress system provides localized muscle therapy during rest or sleep using multiple independently controllable therapeutic zones. The mattress integrates zone-wise therapeutic modules comprising micro-actuators for vibration/mechanical stimulation, embedded heating and/or cooling elements, and optional EMS electrodes, together with pressure and posture sensors. A processing unit receives sensor data to determine body position, pressure distribution and muscle load, and controls the type, intensity and duration of therapy delivered to each zone using adaptive closed-loop control based on real-time feedback and user-selected therapeutic profiles. A wireless communication module enables configuration and monitoring through a mobile/desktop application and supports preference learning. A power management unit and isolation circuitry provide safe low- energy overnight operation, including thermal cutoffs and fault-triggered shutdown. The modular architecture maintains mattress comfort while enabling targeted therapy for athletes, elderly users, pain management, rehabilitation and sleep-quality enhancement.
