MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641059545 A) filed by Manakula Vinayagar Institute Of Technology on May 11, 2026, for Smart Limb Reconstruction System.
Inventors include Dr. R. Valli; and Manojkumar K.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: SMART LIMB RECONSTRUCTION SYSTEM The titled invention discloses a Smart Limb Reconstruction System designed to 5 automate bone adjustment and limb lengthening during reconstruction procedures. The system comprises a limb reconstruction frame (1) supporting a microcontroller unit (2), a current sensor module (3), a motor driver unit (4), a stepper motor (5), a power supply unit (6), a screw adjustment mechanism (7), a patient activity sensor (8), a wireless communication module (9), and a remote monitoring interface (10). The 10 microcontroller unit (2) controls the operation of the stepper motor (5) through the motor driver unit (4) to perform precise screw adjustments. The patient activity sensor (8) ensures safe operation by preventing adjustments during movement. The current sensor module (3) monitors system conditions, while the wireless communication module (9) transmits real-time data to the remote monitoring interface (1 0) for remote 15 observation. The invention provides an automated, accurate, and safe solution, reducing manual intervention, minimizing errors, and improving patient comfort compared to traditional limb reconstruction systems.
