MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641055133 A) filed by Velammal Engineering College Autonomous on April 30, 2026, for Smart Leg Motion Replication And Health Monitoring System For Rehabilitation Assistance.

Inventors include Dr. S. Anusankari; Dr. Z. Brijet; and Jisiinu Kanthan J S.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a smart leg motion replication and health monitoring system for rehabilitation assistance. The system comprises motion sensing modules, gyroscope-based movement -· analysis;--servo•actuated~mechanical~replication, · physiological· monitoring sensors;--embedded processing units, display interfaces, and loT communication infrastructure. Movement data from a healthy leg is captured using an MPU-6050 sensor and processed by an Arduino controller to actuate corresponding motion in an impaired leg through servo motors. Simultaneously, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature are monitored and transmitted through NodeMCU for remote healthcare supervision. The invention provides an affordable, scalable, and intelligent rehabilitation platform for lower-limb recovery, gait correction, and smart physiotherapy.
