Abstract: SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR URBAN GREEN SPACES USING SOIL AND CLIMATE SENSORS The present invention discloses a smart irrigation system for urban green spaces using soil moisture and climate sensors. The system comprises a soil moisture monitoring unit, climate sensing subsystem, microcontroller-based control unit, automated valve-operated irrigation mechanism, IoT communication module, and power management subsystem. Real-time environmental conditions including soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and rainfall are continuously monitored and processed to automate irrigation operations. The system initiates irrigation only when soil moisture falls below predefined threshold values and prevents irrigation during rainfall conditions. The invention further enables cloud-based monitoring, remote user access, predictive irrigation analytics, and automated irrigation scheduling. The proposed system reduces water wastage, minimizes manual intervention, improves irrigation efficiency, and supports sustainable urban green infrastructure development.
