Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART IOT-BASED TAP CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HOSTEL WATER MANAGEMENT The present invention provides a smart IoT-based tap control system for managing water flow in a residential building. The system comprises a water flow sensor associated with a tap, an IoT valve controller module, a solenoid valve, a backend server, a dashboard interface, a tap metadata database, and a schedule and alert engine. The IoT valve controller module receives flow signals from the water flow sensor, determines tap-wise flow data, transmits telemetry to the backend server, and actuates the solenoid valve in response to a control command. The backend server associates telemetry with tap-wise location information and provides the associated information to the dashboard interface. The schedule and alert engine support abnormal-flow alerts and scheduled shutoff, while the dashboard interface supports remote tap control and emergency shutoff.
