Inventors include Himanshu Sanjay Ghuguskar; Prasanna Vishalrao Deshmukh; Krish Ajay Bagdi; and Dr. Anand S. Tale.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent embedded medical device for monitoring and regulating intravenous fluid administration. The system comprises an embedded controller, a non-contact saline level sensing module, an optical laser based drip detection subsystem, a servo actuated IV flow regulation mechanism, an emergency safety module, wireless communication circuitry, a cloud-based monitoring platform, and an intelligent alarm management subsystem. The invention continuously measures saline level and infusion rate, automatically regulates fluid flow using closed-loop feedback control, detects abnormal operating conditions, and generates audible, visual, and remote alerts. Infusion parameters are securely transmitted to an Internet connected monitoring platform, enabling authorized healthcare personnel to remotely supervise and control multiple IV units simultaneously. The system improves patient safety by preventing air embolism, reducing manual intervention, maintaining accurate infusion rates, and providing continuous cloud-based monitoring. The invention is suitable for hospitals, emergency care units, ambulances, intensive care units, rural healthcare facilities, and home healthcare environments.
