Inventors include Dr. Subodh Kumar Panda; Dr. Venkateswarlu Chitteti; Ms. Rubia Tasneem; and Mr. Krishna Chaitanya Pidugu.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: In the complete architecture and sensor system for the proposed smart indoor air quality forecasting and health advisory system, the Architecture shows the proposed architecture from the proposed architecture starting with a smart layer on IoT based sensing to collect real-time essential environmental monitoring such as Particulate Matter (PM2.5/PM10), CO, VOCs, Temperature, and Humidity in the indoor environment. Collected sensed environmental data are sent to ESP32 microcontroller, where it acts as a mediator which helps in combining sensors and getting environmental sensing data, preprocessing it, sending to cloud by wirelessly. All the collected data from ESP32 in wireless mode is stored into the cloud database securely. Data preprocessing including filtering, cleaning, normalization, and feature extraction is performed. The processed data is further used to train machine learning algorithms to predict indoor air quality for various prediction timeframes. Based on these prediction results, we estimate a pollution source through which we are analysing pattern in environment and finding out pollution cause accordingly. At the same time, a Personalized Health Advisory is generated on the basis of predicted indoor air quality considering the health aspects of the occupants and provide timely health advisories to occupants. Final output is presented in the form of a User Dashboard showing the sensor data, air quality prediction, pollution cause and health advisories along with a early warning alert system. The complete architectural and sensor operation of the present invention, represents the IoT sensor layer, cloud server and machine learning, with seamless integration with real time sensing of the ambient and intelligent decision support of predicting air quality.
