MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611117466 A) filed by Shri Ram Murti Smarak College Of Engineering And Technology on September 30, 2026, for Smart In-Vehicle Ethanol Percentage Monitoring And Display System For Automotive Fuel.

Inventors include Dr. Saty Dev; Dr. Pradeep Kumar Yadav; Dr. Ravindra Kumar; Dr. Umesh Kumar Singh; Mr. Devrishi Jaiswal; Dr. Pushpendra Yadav; and Er. Ashwani Kumar Chauhan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A smart in-vehicle ethanol percentage monitoring and display system (100) is disclosed. A Fuel Sampling Module (102) provides representative automotive fuel to an Ethanol Sensing Module (104), while a Temperature Sensing Module (106) supplies fuel-temperature information. A Processing and Control Module (110) uses calibration data stored in a Calibration Memory Module (112) to determine ethanol percentage and compensate the determination for temperature. A Refuelling Detection Module (114) identifies fuel-addition events and a Blending Estimation Module (116) estimates resulting mixed-fuel ethanol concentration using available quantity and composition information. A Fuel-Range Comparison Module (118) evaluates the determined percentage against a vehicle-specific range. A Dashboard Display Module (120) presents the ethanol percentage and a Warning Module (122) provides composition-status indications. Historical measurements may be retained in a Historical Monitoring Memory (124). FIG. 1
