Abstract: Disclosed is a smart heat stroke prevention vest (100) comprising a physiological monitoring unit (103) configured to continuously monitor physiological parameters including heart rate and body temperature, a processing unit (102) configured to analyze the monitored physiological parameters, one or more cooling pack pockets (107) configured to accommodate reusable cooling packs, an EVA insulation layer (108) configured to thermally isolate the cooling packs during normal operating conditions, and an actuation mechanism comprising a DC geared motor (109), a pinion (105), a rack (104), and a structural support frame (106) configured to selectively reposition the EVA insulation layer (108). The processing unit (102) compares the monitored physiological parameters with predefined heat-stress thresholds and, upon detecting a heat-stress condition, actuates the DC geared motor (109) to drive the rack-and-pinion mechanism for repositioning the EVA insulation layer (108), thereby exposing the cooling packs to provide emergency cooling. The processing unit (102) further activates an audible alarm device (101) and transmits an emergency notification to a designated person upon detection of a heat-stress condition. The present disclosure also relates to a method for preventing heat stroke by continuously monitoring physiological parameters, thermally isolating cooling packs during normal operation, automatically exposing the cooling packs upon detection of heat-stress conditions, and generating emergency alerts using the smart heat stroke prevention vest (100).
