MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072483 A) filed by The Principal, mepco Schlenk Engineering College on June 11, 2026, for Smart Glove For Parkinsons Tremor Stabilization.
Inventors include Dr M A Femina; A. Sakthi Meenakshi; G. Devadharshini; and B. Sakthi.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: CLAIM: We Claim: The entire invention of the Adaptive Tremor Suppression Glove for Parkinsonian Hand Tremor Attenuation comprises of: I) Dual Site Inertial Sensing Two MPU6050 sensors placed at the thumb MCP joint and wrist, operating at I 00 Hz, where the thumb sensor captures distal tremor for displacement estimation and the wrist gyroscope captures proximal tremor for frequency estimation, enabling detection of Parkinsonian hand tremors within the 3.5-7.5 Hz range. 2) Real-Time Frequency Estimation using FFT The system applies FFT on wrist gyroscope data, identifYing the dominant tremor frequency using f_tremor = (k peak x 1 00) I 64, repeated every I 0 ms for continuous real-time frequency tracking. ยท 3) Fx-NLMS Adaptive Filtering with Secondary Path Compensation Tremor cancellation is performed using fx-NLMS filter with step size J..l = 0.01, with weights updated every 10 ms using a pre-measured secondary path stored in ESP32 memory, ensunng stable convergence by compensating for actuator-glove-sensor dynamics. 4) Closed-Loop Feedback Post-actuation readings from both sensors are fed back every lO ms to re-verifY tremor frequency, recalculate displacement and update filter weights, automatically halting actuation when no tremor is detected to preserve voluntary movements.
