MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126168 A) filed by Alliance University, Bengaluru on December 13, 2025, for Smart Garment And Assistive Solution For Visually Impaired People.

Inventors include Prof. Parul Sachdeva; and Dr. Rydhm Beri.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: A smart garment and assistive system (100) for visually impaired individuals comprises a sensing layer (101) integrated into garments (102, 103, 104, 105) for women, men, kids, and elderly persons, including a voice assistant (106), a heartbeat sensor (107) for anxiety- level detection, a microcontroller (108) — ATMega2560 — a vibration sensor (109) for bad-touch alerting, a temperature sensor (110) comprising DHT11 and MAX30205 elements for automatic temperature regulation, and a location module (111) for real-time position tracking. An NRF2401 communication module (120) transmits sensor data to a processing layer (140), which filters, structures, and stores the data on a cloud server for device- and location-independent access. An application layer (170) comprises an assistance module (171) for security/healthcare requests, a smart-devices module (172) enabling caregiver monitoring, and a smart-transport module (173) alerting nearby vehicles to the user's location, thereby prompting reduced speed and enhancing user safety, health monitoring, and independent mobility.
