Abstract: TITLE: SMART FOLDABLE AXILLARY CRUTCH WITH ADAPTIVE SUPPORT AND AUTOMATED CONTROL APPLICANT: 1.SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH 2. SCHOOL OF PHYSIOTHERAPY 3. MAHATMA GANDHI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE 4. SHRI SATHYA SAI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a smart foldable axillary crutch for enhancing mobility, safety, comfort, and user independence. The crutch comprises a foldable aluminium or carbon-fibre frame integrated with an auto-locking mechanism actuated by a servo motor. A surface- adaptive base having a ball-joint and rubber grip enables orientation adjustment on uneven terrain, while a spring, rubber, or gel shock absorber reduces impact and jerk during ambulation. A memory-foam axillary pad improves user comfort. An ESP32 microcontroller is electrically connected to an inertial measurement unit (IMU), force-sensitive resistor (FSR), voice module, servo motor, rechargeable Li-ion battery, and LED or laser lighting module. The sensors detect tilt, surface type, and weight-bearing conditions for responsive adjustment of shock absorption. Voice commands including “fold,” “lock,” and “light on/off” enable hands-free operation. The electronic components are enclosed within a waterproof casing, with USB Type-C charging and protection circuitry.
