The smart eyewear system 100 comprises a plurality of sensors 204 integrated into an eyewear frame 104 and configured to collect sensor data associated with posture conditions, neck positioning conditions, attention features, and interaction conditions associated with a user 202. A controller 206 configured to processes the sensor data to generate synchronized posture features and attention features. The controller 206 further checks availability of previously stored user specific baseline information, retrieves a previously stored user specific baseline when available, or determines a user specific baseline when unavailable. The controller 206 determines an ergonomic cognitive strain state based on the synchronized posture features, the attention features, and the user specific baseline, and generates feedback cue associated with the ergonomic cognitive strain state for the smart eyewear system 100.
