Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART EYE STRAIN DETECTION SYSTEM USING REAL-TIME BLINK MONITORING AND EYE ASPECT RATIO ANALYSIS The present invention discloses a Smart Eye Strain Detection System (100) that monitors and mitigates digital eye strain through real-time blink analysis using standard webcam hardware. The system comprises a video input module (110) for capturing video streams, a face detection module (120) employing HOG-based detection, an eye landmark detection module (130) utilizing a 68-point facial landmark predictor, an EAR calculation engine (140) computing Eye Aspect Ratio values, a blink detection module (150) for identifying blink events through threshold-based analysis, a notification engine (160) for generating personalized alerts when blink rate falls below healthy thresholds, and a user interface module (170) for real-time visualization. The system achieves 96% detection accuracy while operating as a lightweight, cross- platform software solution without requiring specialized hardware, addressing the growing concern of Computer Vision Syndrome among digital device users.
