Abstract: The surge in EV adoption has introduced various challenges to the charging infrastructure, such as long queues for charging stations, inefficient use of charging infrastructure, and the reliance on manual charging. Addressing these issues, the present invention introduces a Smart EV Charging Robot with AI Queue Optimization, an intelligent autonomous charging system that offers efficient, reliable, and user-friendly charging services. The proposed system consists of autonomous mobile charging robot, Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, IoT communication and real-time monitoring, which achieves automatic charging of the entire process. The AI-based queue optimization engine continuously reads charging requests, vehicle battery level, charger availability, charging reservations, robot availability and historical charging trends to dynamically prioritize charging operations to minimize waiting time. The self-charging robot optimizes the charging schedule and autonomously drives to the specific electric vehicle, recognizes the charging port by analyzing and perceiving the vehicle's state, and automatically charges the vehicle while avoiding excessive manual operation. During the charging process, the system will be constantly checking the battery parameters and charging status and communicating with the Battery Management System (BMS) and cloud system. The invention also includes intelligent energy management, predictive monitoring, safety features, and automated billing systems to optimize the performance of the charging station and enhance the convenience for the user. The system proposed in this paper aims to optimize charger use, minimize timing delays, and facilitate automated support of the charging process, leading to a scalable and intelligent system for future smart charging stations, commercial parking lots, highway charging stations, and smart city transport networks.
