The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: SMART DUSTBIN AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF ABSTRACT A smart dustbin (100) is disclosed, the smart dustbin (100) comprising a body (102) adapted to store waste; a lid (106) movably coupled, via a hinge (108), to the body (102); an infrared (IR) sensor (110) to measure a distance between a top end of the body (102) and an object approaching the top end of the body (102); an ultrasonic sensor (112) to measure a fill level of the body (102); and a processing unit (114). The smart dustbin (100) is configured to: receive and compare the measured distance from the infrared (IR) sensor (110) with a predefined distance; actuate a servo motor (116) to open the lid (106); receive and compare the measured fill level from the ultrasonic sensor (112) with a predefined threshold; generate a fill indication signal; and relay the fill indication signal to a visualization unit (118). The smart dustbin (100) improves waste management efficiency. Claims: 10, Figures: 4 Figure 1 is selected.
