Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART DRY RUN MONITORING SYSTEM FOR DRY RUN PROTECTION IN DEEP WELL MOTORS The present invention relates to the field of “dry run protection of deep well motors” wherein a smart method and associated electronics device thereof has been proposed. The present invention adopts “level sensing” method but with a novel and alternative sensing approach using temperature sensors. The proposed method uses dual temperature sensors (3) that are inserted into the deep well (1) up to the bottom level with a differential height difference. The difference is temperature between the two temperature sensors based on their contact/no-contact situation with the water is used to sense low water levels. The temperature sensors (3) are connected to a smart monitoring electronic system (8) which comprises of a Wheatstone bridge resistor circuit (8a), a front-end differential amplifier IC with built-in A/D converter (8b), a wireless microcontroller with IOT interface (8c), a solenoid circuit (8d), a push-pull solenoid (6) and a power supply (8e). The microcontroller runs an embedded code that continuously monitors the differential voltage of the temperature sensors. The mechanical action of the solenoid (6) switches off the power supply (9) to the deep well motor (2) which basically mimics the human finger push movement for switching off the motor supply.
