Abstract: Smart Dog Attack Prevention and Alert System Using IoT and Computer Vision A real-time smart dog attack prevention and alert system for public safety is disclosed. The system acquires video through a CCTV camera or camera module and detects dogs and persons using a computer-vision object detection module, a tracking module tracking the detected dog and person across successive video frames while a behaviour analysis module determines behavioural characteristics including posture, movement, running and lunging. The system further determines relative distance and approach speed between the dog and person, and a risk assessment module combines behavioural, spatial and temporal parameters to generate an attack-risk score and classify the interaction into low, medium or high risk. When a high- risk condition is detected, an alert controller activates a buzzer, speaker and/or visual indicator and transmits a remote notification through an IoT communication network, with a GPS module providing geographical coordinates of the event. In one embodiment, a Raspberry Pi 5 performs computer-vision processing and an ESP32 manages IoT communication and alert devices. The system provides real-time monitoring, early risk identification, local warning, location-aware remote notification and event logging for public-safety applications.
