MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611068545 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Institute Of Engineering & Technology on June 01, 2026, for Smart Document Handling Tray With Physical Tamper-Sequence Detection And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Arun Kumar; Ms. Ruchi Sharma; Mr. Chetan Jain; Ms. Pooja Verma; and Ms. Ritika Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a smart document handling tray (100) with physical tamper-sequence detection comprising a tray body (102), a document presence sensing unit (104), a document-edge detection unit (106), an identifier reading unit (108), a tamper-sequence processor (110), and an alert interface (112). The document presence sensing unit (104) measures weight-based data; the document-edge detection unit (106) detects edge positions; and the identifier reading unit (108) reads radio-frequency identification or near-field communication-based document identifiers associated with physical documents in a document-support region. The tamper-sequence processor (110) compares measured data against baseline data and detects insertion, removal, replacement, and reordering tamper events. The tamper- sequence processor (110) generates a tamper-sequence log with timestamps before the documents are scanned or formally processed. The alert interface (112) generates an alert output upon detection of at least one tamper event. The invention improves physical document integrity in legal, financial, and administrative workflows.
