Abstract: The present invention discloses SMART (Sensory Mediated Anxiety Reduction Therapy), a non-pharmacological behavior management device designed to reduce anxicty and improve cooperation among pediatric patients during dental procedures. The invention comprises a teddy-shaped comfort device incorporating weighted sensory components to provide deep pressure stimulation, a rhythmic inflation-deflation mechanism to promote guided breathing and an integrated audio module for delivering calming music or soothing sounds. The device further includes physiological monitoring sensors embedded within designated contact regions of the paws for measuring parameters including heart rate and blood pressure while the child holds the device during treatment. The monitored physiological data are transmitted wirelessly through a Bluetooth communication module to a clinician's smartphone, tablet or monitoring system, enabling real-time assessment of the child's anxiety- related physiological responses. By combining sensory regulation, respiratory entrainment, distraction therapy, emotional comfort and objective physiological monitoring within a single child-friendly platform, the invention facilitates behavioral guidance and anxiety reduction in children aged approximately 4 to 10 years undergoing dental treatment. The device serves as a safe, portable and chairside adjunct to conventional pediatric behavior management techniques and may be adapted for use in other healthcare environments involving pediatric patients.
