MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641100505 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on August 20, 2026, for Smart Denture Pressure Mapping Probe.

Inventors include Keshav Rajesh; Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan; and Harini K.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A hand-held, pen-like probe designed for the precise, quantitative identification of localized high-pressure areas on the intaglio surface of complete dentures. The device features a pressure-sensitive sensor tip available in two configurations: a fixed integrated tip and a set of interchangeable, sterilizable tips of varying geometries for access to different areas of the denture base. As the tip is applied to the intaglio surface, the measured force is displayed simultaneously on an onboard LED scale on the handle and, optionally, transmitted wirelessly to an external display or companion application for detailed mapping and documentation. The probe enables the clinician to systematically scan the entire intaglio surface of the denture, precisely localize areas of excessive pressure, and perform targeted relief with objective confirmation — replacing the subjective and time-consuming pressure-indicating paste technique with a direct, quantitative instrument.
